Welcome to the ENLEN website

This project ceased activity on 31st March 2011 due to lack of funding.

We are leaving the website up in the hope the information will be helpful to householders in the East Neuk & Landward area.

If you require advice on household energy efficiency or energy tariffs, please call Energy Savings Trust on 0800 512 012 or visit www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland.

The East Neuk and Landward Energy Network (ENLEN) is a community based energy saving project based in Fife. It was developed by the East Neuk and Landward Joint Community Councils Forum, and supported by Fife Council and the University of St Andrews.

On April 7th 2009, the project was awarded grant funding of £212,903 from the Climate Challenge Fund, which allowed us provide local solutions to fuel poverty and climate change, including home energy checks, support and advice as well as enabling increased uptake of the various schemes currently on offer for cavity and loft insulation, draught proofing, new double glazing, heating controls and replacement boiler systems.

The project was led by a full-time Energy Coordinator, based in the Fife Council Local Services office in Anstruther. She was supported by seven part-time local Energy Champions who were the key to the one-to-one energy saving support we offered householders. The team of energy champions were based around the East Neuk communities and each village had its own key contact. See the 'about us' page for more information.

We were unsuccessful in our bid for follow-on funding to continue the project.
